Brian D. Bailey
Brian Bailey is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Carmichael Partners. Prior to forming Carmichael, he worked in private equity at The Carlyle Group in Washington, Forstmann Little & Co. in New York and Carousel Capital in Charlotte. In addition to his private equity background, Bailey previously held investment banking positions at Bowles Hollowell Conner & Co. and CS First Boston and served in several government/political positions in Washington including Special Assistant to the President in the Office of the White House Chief of Staff, Director of Strategic Planning and Policy at the U.S. Small Business Administration and Deputy Campaign Manager for Clinton/Gore 1996.
Bailey currently serves on the boards of Bandwidth, Republic Wireless, Bluerock Residential Growth REIT (Ticker: BRG), STM Industries and the Telecommunications Development Fund. He has previously served on the boards of a number of private and public companies. He also serves, or has previously served, in volunteer positions at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM Board of Trustees, NCSSM Foundation Board of Directors), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Board of Visitors, Carolina Angel Network, Honors Carolina Advisory Board, Morehead-Cain Central Selection Committee), the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Foundation (Board of Trustees), the Charlotte Research Institute (Board of Directors), the Charlotte Chamber (Executive Committee) and the Young Presidents' Organization (North Carolina Leadership Committee).
Bailey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar and Student Body President, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
